Although Maynardio enjoys his ride on a cable car, a mysterious New Orleans spy peeks over his shoulder (on far right).
Maynardio pretends that everything is groovy, but he's well aware that the spy wants to nab his Robin Hood hat and use it as a clever disguise.

On this glorious afternoon in Southern California, the ground was tipping side-to-side (as it often does), and people were falling all over themselves on the beach. Thankfully however, these four young fellows were able to stabilize the rolling earth, by pulling on four specially designed kites.
Over the last few years, California has been making great strides in earthquake prevention, and harnessing the wind has been our greatest ally. As one young surfer commented this afternoon:
"Dude... those megga kites are truly amazing, just a few tugs on the strings and the ground stops shaking. When I was just a little dude, earthquakes threw sand all over my food. But now, I'm able to eat tacos without hiding under a towel."
"Wind power is truly beautiful, because it keeps sand on our beaches...where it belongs!"

A proper voodoo vacation would not be complete without a visit to the mad tiki chef who lives on the roof of the Bali Hai on Shelter Island. After his eye-ball fell into a bowl of soup, the owner of the restaurant kicked him out of the kitchen, and he's been sitting on the rooftop ever since. Santa is going Green!
Many of us are familiar with the famous flying reindeer from the North Pole.
However, these days even Santa is going green and he has been testing a smaller alternative to luxury-size reindeer.
Watch out Rudolph, this little piggy wants your job!
Her nose might not glow in the dark, but her small body is very aerodynamic.
When she lifts off the ground, her retractable landing gear pulls close to her body, thus reducing wind drag and increases fuel effiency.
A new national defense program was unveiled during an air show at the Orange County Fair. The Navy refers to it as the Ultra-Sonic Pig Project.
Scientists have been studying flying pigs for years, but a new research
study in Portugal revealed an amazing secret. When flying pigs in study group A enjoyed a
balanced diet of traditional slop, their flight-speed remained average. However, when flying pigs in study group B enjoyed a balanced diet of fresh figs mixed with traditional slop, their flight-speed increased dramatically.
During the air show, an amazing demonstration proved beyond
a-shadow-of-doubt that these findings were accurate. After one pig was
given a handful of fresh figs, he turned around and jumped into the air and then bam...he disappeared! A moment later, everyone heard a sonic boom and then a pink streak whooshed along the floor of the stadium. No one was sure what had happened. However, a special high-speed camera, captured this amazing image.

Maynardio Rescues Mr. Bush!

Oct. 29, '07
When Maynardio
heard that fumigation would destroy the plants near the base of his
sister's house, he sprang into action with a shovel in hand and uprooted Mr. Bush. He then transplanted the shrub to a safer location.
Oct. 30, '07
Maynardio and Mr. Bush posed for a publicity photo near Mr. Bush's new home. Throughout his adult life, Mr. Bush had lived in a planter above a rose garden and
this move was difficult for him. However he is looking forward to being
closer to the gound-level flowers that he loves so well. Although the move was only
yesterday, he has already made a

Maynard Livingston was very happy when the Leslie Family found him wandering in the remote jungles of Escondido. The family had sailed on a pirate ship from New Zealand searching for the lost explorer. And here, we see their joyful reunion through the captain's telescope.
Maynardio's friend,Mr. Pickle, was a big hit at theNew Media Expo. In fact, because of him, everyone was able to take home a pint of hamburger relish!
He will be missed.

-- Tiki Oasis --
Aug. 18, '07 Fans of tiki culture clustered together for a weekend of tikimania at Tiki Oasis 7.
Santa's sons are happy to be away from the North Pole, and here no one laughs when they wear colorful tiki shirts.
The Towering Tiki Monster's eyes blaze with fire and inside his burning belly stands a little man serving drinks.
Not long ago, this place was full of thirsty patrons, but alas, molten lava tends to burn holes in the pocketbook. It also burns holes through pretty much everything else too... including customers!
Doug DeWit (drummer for the Tiki Tones band) and teetotalerMaynardiowatched with amazement as yet another customer turned into a puff of smoke, after one too many sips of lava.
Doug worked with a Maynardio look-alike named,Maynardat Disneyland.
Vernon, the "Master of Disguise", has successfully infiltrated Tiki Oasis by dressing like a millionaire.
Summergrass (Bluegrass Music Festival) 2007
Aug. 26, '07
Although Maynardio did not have a musical instrument, he found a way to join a bluegrass band...by using an umbrella.
Maynardio was happy to catch up with Wayne Rice, at Summer- grass this year. Waynehas been the host of KSON's "Bluegrass Special"radio program since 1976 and last year, Maynardio learned about Summergrass by listening to Wayne's show. {Listen 'live' on the WEB, 10-12 Sunday nights}.
Summer- grass Kids playing various musical instruments for an audience.
Maynardio enjoyed listening to Eric Uglum and his sons and he especially liked a tune they played about an old dog called, "Old Blue". If you have an old dog, play this song for him or her and you might see 'em smile.
On the other hand, if you have a pet opossum, um...try a different song.
It was so great to see these kids involved with creating music, we just had to show another picture of them performing.

Buying rollerblades at the Oceanside Swap Meet
While visiting the Oceanside Swap Meet, Maynardio bought a pair of rollerblades from Larry for $25. Besides getting a good deal, Maynardio also experienced something rare in Southern California... a thought- provoking conversation. Thank you Larry!
June 25, '07
Maynardio learned how to rollerskate when he was a kid, but this was his first attempt at rollerblading.
Thankfully, he was wearing protective equipment, otherwise his hand would have been munched.
To be on the safe side, Maynardio borrowed this video from the library.
From the video, Maynardio learned techniques on how to remain balanced and how to stop.
He also learned to stay low, so that his falls would take less time, and that way he could fall more often.

A Tribute to Maynard's Parents
June 2, 2007 On this date, ten years ago, a great man passed away. He was neither famous nor rich, but he was a great father. Both he and my mother were marvelous parents and they gave me a wonderful childhood. Although they are no longer with us, I treasure the innocence of childhood that still lives inside me. And someday, I hope to share that gift by writing and illustrating children's stories. I love ya mom and pop and I hope to do the things that would have made you proud. Sincerely, Maynard
Memorial Day Weekend
The Maynard Brothers have a friend named, John who lived in China many years ago. And when the Communists came into power, they pressured John to teach propaganda in his church. However, when John refused, they put him and his wife into prison and took away their home. After a few years, John's wife died behind bars, but John was eventually released after 22 years.
The Maynard Brothers are thankful for the brave men and women who have made great sacrifices to keep our country free. And during this Memorial Day weekend, we have a question:
If this was your last summer of freedom, what dream would you want to fulfill?
March, April, May, 2007
May 9, 2007 This morning, Maynard wrote down a few ideas for new children's stories, including one story that is located in a place that smells bad. He is also working on some other stories, but they are located several miles away from the place that smells bad. However, after reading them, people might conclude that they all stink...hee,hee. For more information, just click on: Maynard's Stories. Thank you!

A Visit with Bird
September 25, 2006
Question: What do you feed a guest who wears a silly green hat?
Today on the island of Maui, Maynardio's friend, Mark Jamgochian (or *Bird)collected avocados from the large tree in his backyard. Shortly thereafter, Maynardio enjoyed a nice green avo sandwich.
*Bird is an artist and surfer and he lives in Maui with his wife and daughter. Please click here to learn more about Bird. Please click here to see some of his colorful designs.

Although Maynard has not yet written the book, and a title has not yet
been determined, we hope that the publication will someday be a place
where your inner-child can come out to play. In the meantime, the
Maynard brothers will occationally post comments on Maynard's Book, concerning this project.

Maynardio's voice introduces the show, and he was also happy to find a new feather for his hat.
Maynardio faces the Giant Green Lizard
Maynardio's friend, Steve, traveled to Mt. Fuji, to attend a karate class, taught by a famous giant lizard.
Steve was sooooo very excited to meet the big green movie star.
While Steve was in Japan, he e-mailed this photo to Maynardio. From left to right:Yu Takashina, Steve Rousseau andJosh Isaacs. They all signed up for the karate class, but when they got to the top of Mt. Fuji, the big lizard could not be found.
Then, in the mail, Maynardio received a postcard from his Nephew's theater. The big green lizard got a part in a play at the Maverick Theater!
This was upsetting news, the lizard had left his students high and dry!
Aug. 11, '06
Maynardio decided to take action!
The big green lizard had stepped over the line, he had set up a fake class and then used the enrollment money to buy a round-trip ticket to Fullerton.
Maynardio thought to himself, "At least the creature could have arranged for a substitute teacher to teach the class."
Maynardio could tell that this creature was not even a qualified
karate instructor! The lizard tried to hide, but the set was not big enough. Maynardio then reasoned with the monster to turn away from his life of crime.
The reptile knew that he had done a bad thing, but fame had clouded his good judgement.
Upon closer inspection, Maynardio located an actor named, Nick McGee, living inside the beast!
La Jolla, California
Aug. 20, '06
While snor- kling near the mouth of a cave in La Jolla bay, Maynardio's twin brother, Maynard, was greeted by several garibaldi fish (photos taken underwater have not yet been processed).
August 20, 2006
If your in the market for a cave of your very own... Maynardio recommends that you buy a shovel.
However, if you'd like to visit a cave, TheCave Store can address that need. Travelers have entered Sunny Jim Cave
through The Cave Store since 1906. Once inside, the path goes downward
to a place where visitors can look out and see the ocean. And on rare
occations,
some visitors have also seen brother Maynard swimmin' about with the fishes.
The name, Sunny Jim was given to the cave by *Lyman Frank Baum, author of the original 14 Wizard of Oz books.
This is just one of the caves in La Jolla Bay. In the distance, a couple of seals soak in a some rays (ie. sunshine) while relaxing on a rock.
These swimmers will soon enjoy a tasty treat. Their neighbors, the Pelican family, have baked them a huge cake (shaped like a cliff on the California coast). In a few moments, the Pelicans will finish frosting the cake and then the tourists can dig in!
Maynardio and his twin brother, Maynard, have decided to go out for burritos instead.
Aug. 6, '06 While exploring Ocean Beach on his folding bike (on July 23rd), Maynardio came across place called, Dog Beach, at the mouth of the San Diego River.
Dogs run freely on this beach and often they make friends with other dogs.

For 30 minutes, Maynardio tried to lay an egg in this golf cart, but it didn't work.
In the meantime a mysterious sheriff sat in the shadows, carefully watching the photographer.
San Diego Wild Animal Park
Maynard Livingston is happy to see you!
Throughout the day, trainers share about facinating design features found in the many rare and wonderful animals that live at the park. "Animal Encounters" provide opportunities for the public to see these animals up close.
At the San Diego Wild Animal Park, one of the animal trainers talks about a young American Alligator.

Today, Maynardio's favorite colors are purple and red.
If you wonder why... perhaps the focus on your display screen needs an adjustment.
While visiting the Anime Expo. at the Anaheim Convention Center, Secret Agent Maynardio Disquised himself as a chicken and blended in with all the other chicken people.
Sadly, not all people like apples.

Maynardio can hardly wait to visit the Cat Planet. However, Commander Kitty warns him of the dangers of wearing a chicken costume.
In outer space, baked potatoes can be the size of small aseroids. Therefore, it's a good idea to carry a big kitchen knife, just in case the crew gets hungry.
This elf learned a difficult lesson.
When fighting fire-breathing dragons, it's always a good idea to wear plenty of sun-screen.
To ward off the effects of spookiness (see sign at bottom of the picture), Maynardio carries his remarkable balloon of defense.
King, Queen and little dancer.
This picture was taken after lunch and it looks like the dragon's meal was trying to escape, pulling his way up through the monster's throat.
Sometimes, pixies reminisce about bygone days in the enchanted forest.
Back then, pixies were truely free. But then came the earthmovers and their forest was turned into a large housing tract. Alas, now the pixies must earn a living by selling magic shoes and t-shirts.
Hush...anime characters need sleep too and the three characters on the right standing with Maynardio (a non-anime character), all have one goal in mind: to keep the convention quiet while the fellow on the left gets some shut eye.
This poor fellow was up all night long, opening giant cans of tuna for Godzilla.
When battling against this fierce ninja warrior, Maynardio cooled the heat with cute little fishy doll.
Perhaps the evil villian in your town could use a happy toy? If not, a jail cell might do the trick.
During your busy day...please don't forget to walk your penguin.
A toast to Pixar
While visiting some friends at Pixar's world-famous 'Love Lounge' in '02, Maynard wore a stylish leopard fez hat to impress Jessy, the cowgirl, from Toy Story 2. However, Jonas Rivera (left) felt bummed out because he didn't have a hat.
For the movie, 'Cars', Jonas traveled along Route 66 and while he was on the road, the crew made a short film about him and a piece of beef. Click here to see "Dinner at the Big Texan".

Wading in a pool with sharks may sound like a lot of fun, but there can be consequences.
This fellow may look like an ordinary, every day king-sized pirate with a wooden leg, but don't be too hasty with your assumptions. One of Maynardio's secret agent contacts has confirmed that this pirate fellow is actually Vernon the Entertainer, a notorious master of disguise!
Some experts of disguise use their talents to assist the forces of evil. However, this disguise expert uses his skills to combat the forces of boredom.

Ah yes, February, the month of amore!
During this special month of valentines and red-hot mushy-mush, Maynardland will be presenting an imaginary journey to the very bowels of romance, on an island somewhere in the South Pacific.
In early February, various Maynard Brothers from around the world gathered on a mysterious island,
to celebrate the power of amore. And what better way to illustrate the
dynamics of love than with fire! Dressed in traditional grass skirts
and coconut war helmets, the Maynard Brothers burst onto the stage as the Amore Fire Dancers, sweeping the hearts of lovers and lover wantabes with snappy dance steps and lots of yelling! The
program began with sweet poetry (spoken to native dancing girls who
played the parts of native dancing girls) and concluded with all-out
war! Very romantic and the flying spears brought a realistic conclusion
to the evening. Another performance is scheduled for Valentine's Day and if all goes well, the volcano will erupt.
The location of this island is rather secret, so no pictures, video or sound recordings were allowed. However, the Maynard Brothers
will present the entire show without commercials...all you need to do
is close your eyes and the Maynardland transmitter will go to work.
Happy V-day!

Dec. 25, '05 Some say that he was an over-grown elf that Santa left behind. Others thought that he should have been exchanged for something more useful, like a hammer. And yet another group felt that he had a bit too much skin on his face. These were all very fine things to think about...but then again, perhaps we should have just put him back into the box.

Here's a taste of joy...just in time for the holidays!
However, as a note of caution, be careful not to look at it for too long, it's probably fattening.
While searching for a pot of gold in the hills of Kentucky, Maynardio used his magical powers and became a wee leprechaun.
Oct. 7-9, '05 Maynardio attended the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee and while he was there, he made a great discovery...he met master storyteller, Odds Bodkin! For info. click: Maynardville, etc.

Will the lemons of July assist him, as he whistles down the slide?
Will he find love or simply become another crime fighter, wandering the streets, looking for lemons?
June 22, 2005
Maynardio cooks up
a batch of brocolli potato soup. His sister, Gloria, came down with the
flu on her return flight from Africa and maybe some soup will make her
feel a little better.
Because the soup is grey and unappealing,
it will probably be good for fighting a flu. Germs and sickness seem to
like candy...and this sure ain't candy.
June 26, 2005
While attending a church picnic, Maynardio comes to the aide of his crime-fighting associate. Trapped waist-deep in the bounce house of terror, the super-hero knows that he can depend on the man with the funny hat, to liberate him from an embarrassing situation.
June 3, 2005
Maynardio has been commissioned to paint a mural of a monkey and a coconut tree for a children's room. While drawing, he thinks deep thoughts about the monkey world.
After finishing the pencil sketch, he traces the image with a black pen (however, his feather seems to be out of ink).
A copy machine then duplicates the ink drawing onto a clear plastic sheet of paper.
The plastic paper is then placed on top of an overhead projector and the machine magnifies the image onto a wall.
He traces the projected image with a thin line of
brown paint and then fills in the blank areas of the drawing with solid
colors to create a flat base for the other layers of paint.
After the base colors have been applied, Maynardio goes back into the illustration with properly mixed colors to represent skin, fur, coconut shells and tree bark.
Finally, he adds the finishing touches of shadows, highlights, a bit of monkey hair and the copyright notice, (c) 2005 Maynard Smith.
Happiness.
